Hockey Canada’s DRILL OF THE MONTH: Skating Skills – Toe on Puck

This simple drill gets players working their edges without losing balance (carving edges with one leg raised). All you need to run this simple drill are standard hockey pucks. The game is faster than ever, however, the ability to use and control your edges provides the opportunity to create deception and confusion for your opponents. Combining that with unpredictable changes of direction, however so slightly, can give players the ability to get around defenders.

Hockey Canada Drill of the Month

All you need to practice this drill at home is a stick (or get a Floorball stick), attack triangle and a driveway. Get a few pieces of lumber and make your own attack triangle. Get creative and work on your puck handling.
