Coniston Flames Coaches Code of Conduct

The following must be read, understood, and accepted prior to submitting an application.

I will teach my players to play fairly and to respect the rules, officials, and opponents.
I will ensure that all players get equal instruction and support.
I will not ridicule or yell at my players for making mistakes or for performing poorly. I will remember that players play to have fun and must be encouraged to have confidence in themselves.
I will make sure that equipment and facilities are safe and match the player's ages and abilities.
I will remember that participants need a coach that they can respect. I will be generous with praise and set a good example.
I will work in co-operation with officials for the benefit of the game.
I will obtain proper training and continue to upgrade my coaching skills.
I will hold an introductory meeting at the beginning of the season and foster regular and effective communication with parents.
I will provide Coniston Minor Hockey Association with an up to date Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector Check).

Additional Terms:

Unless applicant already holds required certification(s) he/she must be prepared to take required certification course as soon as the course is available.
All members of the team's staff must fill out a separate application including returning coaches and staff.
Coaches applying may indicate preferred members for their staff or consideration in the comments below. Not all members are guaranteed a spot.
ALL applicants must be approved by he current Executive and no applicant, including staff from the previous season, should assume acceptance for any position until notified of approval by the Executive.
